It is starting to feel like winter in the Big Apple. No snow, but it is chilly. The season isn't the only change that has been in progress. Work has been crazy this semester. We were short staffed and I was filling in with students from a different program. It turns out that I enjoyed working with this group of students so I asked to switch offices and advisees. Friday was my official last day with my old department. I am now advising students in the Associates in Fashion Marketing program. This move also a change in location. I have moved from the mid-town office near Times Square to the main campus, which is located near Union Square in the Village.
I have also been busy with the writing. I had an essay in the American Theater Wing's Play That Change My Life contest. My essay was in the top three of the public voting. You can read it at http://americantheaterwing.org/contest
Hanukkah is here. I had a lovely party with Sandy, Terry, Esther, Michael, and Mrs. C. (My neighbor). Sandy made latkas and brisket. Esther made holiday cookies. I am currently wearing the funky split toe socks that Esther and Michael brought me back from Japan. They are surprisingly comfy. :)
