Occations

Lots of special occasions and events have been keeping me busy over the past month. The biggest event was my sister Esther's wedding to Michael. It was beautiful. You can check out some pictures of the event at www.sarahpostma.com/blog . I can't wait to see Esther later this week to hear about her honeymoon in Japan.

Most of our family was in town for the wedding. This was the first time my mom had visited me since I moved to NYC. I took her and Sarah around midtown, the upper east side, and the flatiron district. We went to Madison Square Park, Dylan's Candy Bar, FAO Schwartz, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, and Bryant Park. We went to my neighborhood in Brooklyn and Sandy and Terry took us on a driving tour of Brooklyn. We went to Red Hook and had coal oven pizza. We then went to Brooklyn Heights and walked around the promenade.

In other events I went to Washington D.C. to spend Thanksgiving with my Uncle Ed and Uncle Richard. Sarah and mom were also in town as well as my Aunt Isabelle, Uncle Charlie, Cousin Mark, and Aunt Veronica. We had a wonderful time. We went to the Smithsonian Museum of American History and the Newseum.

The holiday season is in full swing here. This so far has included some gatherings with NYC friends and holiday shopping. Today I went to the BUST craft fair with Heidi, Jen, Krista, and Gina. We had brunch at a great new find for us in Chelsea, The Green Monkey. Later Jen and I continued our shopping. We went to Fishes Eddy which is a great store that sells flatware and glassware. Jen introduced me to Subtletea a tea house in Murry Hill. We then went on to browse the holiday vendors at Grand Central Station.
